Why Do We Exist?

THE MISSION:

Developing fully devoted followers of Christ by intentionally building those who know Christ and passionately pursuing those without Christ.

"The Mission" reflects a two-fold emphasis supported by our congregation, where every member is a minister, and we desire to spur others into a deeper walk with Christ as we follow Him whole-heartedly.

First, we share a genuine commitment to "intentionally building those who know Christ". Central to this statement is the promise to provide opportunities for discipleship, accountability, prayer support, fellowship, and care-giving in a small group setting beyond corporate worship. Such programs are focused on nurturing the spiritual growth of the individual so we, as individuals and as a church, can grow closer to God.

Secondly, we share a burden for "passionately pursuing those without Christ". We are committed to reach out to the unchurched and the unsaved, remembering that the lost matter to God. We will carry this burden to share the gospel message into our neighborhoods and beyond.

OUR UNIQUE CALLING:

Multiplying churches that multiply churches to reach our county for Christ.

God has called us to multiply His followers by planting/daughtering new churches throughout western Sedgwick County. Beacon Community Church in Goddard is the first "birthing" in carrying out that calling.

On July 24th, 2011 Pastor Ken Cooper shared with West Evangelical Free Church a new strategy for Church Planting. You can watch it. you can also download the "Powerpoint" for the morning by clicking here.
