Weak Marriage
A marriage is supposed to create two things:
- An encouraging, inspirational, life support system that "spurs us on to love and good deeds" for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
- A safe and purposeful social, moral, mental, emotional, and physical training ground for children, so that they can grow into mature adults that are capable and willing servants to God's purposes
While the Weak Marriage is not in crisis, it is also not growing and not bringing about the goals described above. These married couples need instruction and discipleship as they draw near to each other and to Christ. Our ministry is organized around teaching three basic skills that our culture no longer teaches from a biblical perspective. Subsequently there is a great deal of conflict around these three topics and we have small group discipleship available for each.
- Communication - These groups cover Dr. Norman H. Wright's book "Communication, the Keys to a Lasting Marriage".
- Sex - These groups cover Dr. Roseberg's book "The Five Sex Needs of Men and Women".
- Conflict Resolution - These groups cover Ken Sande's book "The Peacemaker: A Biblical Guide to Resolving Personal Conflict"
